Pioneer's latest integrated amplifier created with the original Direct Energy concept incorporates the newly developed Direct Energy Design, pursuing a high S/N ratio to create an overwhelming and vibrant sound field. With features like an isolated power supply, custom large capacitors, Direct Function, Power Amp Direct Mode, aluminum volume knob/front panel, and MM phono input, you can enjoy pure sound just like the artists intended.
Isolated power supply
The supply windings for the power amplifier, preamplifier and controls are each separated inside the power transformer to avoid mutual noise interference.
Pioneer exclusive electrolytic capacitors
The main capacitor, which determines the sound quality of an amplifier, was developed in collaboration with ELNA. The Pioneer logo indicates that it is an exclusive pure audio capacitor.
Direct Function
The A-40AE features Direct Function, which bypasses other circuits except volume to deliver a pure listening experience suitable for music. The function is not just a simple toggle, but is carefully tuned to enhance musicality.
Anti-standing wave insulators
The Anti-Standing Wave Insulator has a special form without parallel sides inside to avoid resonance of the cavity. This makes the localization, pitch and scale of the sound clearer, while also contributing to the seamless connection between channels and improved response to fast audio
